Garlic [oil on canvas 74 x 63 in]
Lin Chun Yan was born in 1962, China. At 1990 he moved to Australia, and graduated from Sydney University art department at 1994. In 1998, he moved back to Beijing and live there till now. His painting has the Expressionist aspect, he freed his figures, let them fly, stretch into the air, the strokes were thick, and textured, with gesture similar to those in ink painting. He used singular color, pure and bold, very attractive. He painted heads as vegetables, creating highly absurd metaphors.
